D1 was founded in 2022 to solve a specific problem: financial institutions in Latin America and the United States needed a way to offer their clients access to digital assets without rebuilding their stack, taking on operational risk they weren't licensed to hold, or partnering with crypto-native firms that didn't understand banking.
We built D1 to be that counterparty. Regulated in the United States, Mexico, and Switzerland. Operating across the Americas and Europe. Trusted today by many institutional counterparties for OTC liquidity, stablecoin payment rails, settlement, and on/off ramps.
We are not a platform. We are not a marketplace. We are a single regulated relationship that replaces the dozen vendor integrations a typical crypto entry would require.

Our team brings together leaders from global investment banks, top-tier commercial banks, the largest crypto exchanges, and Latin America's leading broker-dealers and technology companies. We understand both sides of the bridge — the regulatory rigor of traditional finance and the operational reality of digital assets — because we've built careers in both.

Banking & capital markets
Decades of combined experience at global investment banks and commercial banks. We know how risk committees think, how compliance teams underwrite counterparties, and what a bank's procurement process actually requires.
Digital asset operations
Operational leadership from Tier-1 crypto exchanges and infrastructure providers. We've run trading desks, custody operations, and treasury through every market cycle since 2017.
Latin America, from the inside
Our team includes operators from the region's leading broker-dealers, fintechs, and technology firms. We don't translate a US playbook for LatAm — we built our practice in the region and extended it outward.
Regional fluency
We understand the Americas like no one else.
"Latin America" is not a market. It is fourteen markets, each with its own central bank, banking system, fiat corridor, regulatory posture toward digital assets, and informal rules about how business actually gets done.
Our team has lived and worked across the region. We hold local entities, not offshore shells. We speak the languages of the regulators and the bankers in the rooms where partnerships are decided. We know the difference between what a Panamanian licensed bank can route through dollar correspondent accounts and what a US-regulated MSB can settle on behalf of an institutional client. We know which corridors clear same-day and which don't, which counterparties pass diligence at a Tier-1 US bank, and which jurisdictions a regional broker-dealer can actually onboard from.
That regional fluency, combined with US and Swiss regulatory anchors, is the single hardest thing for a competitor to replicate. It is the reason institutions choose us.

We do not provide services in jurisdictions where we are not licensed to do so. We will tell you what we cannot do as readily as what we can.
